October 2025: What is the best customer service you ever received? Describe what happened.
Contributor of the prompt: *Julie Rose
So interesting to think about. There have been a handful of times of experiencing “the best customer service”, although I would not say any of the times has been the best. Perhaps that is due to having been in the spot light of customer service for over 38 years. There tends to be more of a you really gotta go above and beyond to make the customer service a EXCELLENT customer service for myself.
Perhaps I am a customer service snob? Could be, although I think this mirrors along with good manners and treating one another with kindness, a lot of exceptional kindness no matter where you are at.
I do appreciate and acknowledge those that provide this service, willingly and without showing they “have” to go the extra mile to make it a great or the best experience.
Customer service for myself may fall into a waitress really going above and beyond in remembering food restrictions, favorite items that are not on the menu, atmosphere (music, shows on the tube, sitting outdoors) or simply just giving you a smile, when they are beyond exhausted and swamped. I think that person that does these things for all of their customers is giving “the best customer service.” My hairdresser and doctor provide this each and every time and let’s not forget about our amazing pool guy and dairy delivery company. My list is long! How blessed am I to have this amazing experience in life!
I do not have one particular experience although every 10,000 miles I get to experience “excellent” customer service when I take our LandRover for an oil change. The LandRover Chandler Dealership, each and every time, go above and beyond to ensure our experience is beyond exceptional. And it does not stop there. In this day and age, we may get a text, email or a survey to share that experience. For us, we receive a “hand written thank you in the mail” from our service advisor everytime we come in. Yes your read that right, every single time. We also receive birthday cards, an anniversary card not for our wedding anniversary rather for when we first started using them for our services at that location. As well as Thanksgiving AND a Christmas cards. Again, all hand written and ever so thankful that we trust them to continue to bring our Rover to them for all of our service needs. Mine may not be one particular experience rather a continued experience. I do look forward to our service when service is needed. One thing is for certain, when arriving, I never ever have to open a vehicle door, myself nor pour myself, coffee or even opening a bottle of water. There is always a sales person to open my door when I pull into the appointment bay. They carry any bags/books that I may be viewing while I wait. They ensure they walk me to the area I wish to sit at (oil change takes 3-4 hours). While also from time to time checking in on me and even asking me if I need food that they are willing to go buy and get and bring back to me. I can say for the last 4 years, not one time has it never not been “exceptional customer service.” So to define one time, for me, I am thrilled that I have been blessed to experience not just “the best customer service” rather “exceptional customer service” in so many ways.
