October 2025: What is the best customer service you ever received? Describe what happened.
Contributor of the prompt: *Julie Rose
I am not sure why I am struggling to find an ‘experience’ to share on this topic. I want to say if the question was worded ‘what was the worst customer service you have ever received?’ I would struggle to answer that as well.
No, I am not being fake or unreal.
I think my experience as a customer is up to me. If I am warm, smiling, engaging I have a direct influence over how I am going to be treated as a customer. If I am aggressive, confrontational, loud my influence will impact how I am treated. Let’s face it that is human nature, isn’t it?
Most of the time I am quiet, getting my ‘things’, pleasant and just doing what it takes to complete the transaction. No matter how I am ‘treated’ my goal is whatever I am purchasing and or getting from the business. As long as I make my goal, does how I am treated or responded to matter?
We have expectations of strangers.
Yes, I get it – it’s their job! However, if my idea of great customer service is a warm smile and admiration of my hoodie, versus another’s idea of customer service is to have their every sigh and whim catered to, how in the world can any customer service rep keep up with that, let alone know what to do for whom?
The interactions I enjoy the most:
is a little playfulness from the customer service rep….
attention from the rep and not having them distracted by their phone or another employee…
if I have been there before, I love when they remember! Like my coffee order or breakfast order!
At the end of the day they are human.
At the end of the day I had an objective and so did they.
At the end of the day how did I influence my treatment as a customer?
