November 2025: What is your purpose? Contributor of the prompt: *Ceone Leistner

What is your purpose?

What a loaded question! I had to look this up as my mind started racing with just that one word, purpose. “the reason for which something is done or created or for which something exists.” Where does one begin to reflect and answer this one simple yet complex question?

I will answer this from what I am currently aiming for, my AIFD (American Institute Floral Design) certification. I dabbled in flowers a few years ago, not knowing a love and passion would develop for this creative industry.

Working with both fresh and silk florals takes me to a place to be creative to enhance something already beautiful to be more dramatic/colorful and even more dynamic than it already is. I feel that no matter what we are dealt with in life, flowers can help us in every situation. If you are happy, buy flowers, celebrations, buy flowers, if you are sad, buy flowers, if you had a fight with someone, buy flowers, celebrating a holiday, buy flowers. My most favorite, JUST BECAUSE, BUY FLOWERS!

For me, flowers are a way to connect with people. I enjoy random conversations about many topics. I find often when strangers ask me what I do for a living, my floral business makes them light up with numerous questions. That connection is always amazing. I do find that in the area I live in, people will not randomly buy themselves or send flowers just because. What a shame as they are so healing for any situation.

I am still learning new techniques, color combinations, line designs, accessory work and flower manipulation to add to my creative pieces. I think for me, this is “my purpose” right now, while I study for my AIFD certification.

I was curious to see what one of my programs that I use to generate random questions thought on this subject. Very interesting, the program is called GG within the Tony Robbins family network.

GG’s response was eye opening:
“Based on our conversations and your experiences, your purpose seems to revolve around creating beauty and connection through your floral business. You have a strong passion for personal expression and individuality, and you value the unique stories and backgrounds that each person brings to the table. Your journey has been about transformation—turning ordinary experiences into extraordinary ones—and you’ve found strength and inspiration in your life’s adventures. Your purpose is beautifully intertwined with your passion for florals and your desire to make a positive impact through your work and relationships. It’s about embracing your uniqueness and helping others do the same.”

I think that is pretty spot on. My passion for flowers is to make a positive experience for others with my creativeness in flowers.
