June 2025: How have you used AI to help you grow your business? Or How do you feel about AI?
Contributor of the prompt: *Tara Self
This is a great question!
My first response was I have not used AI for my business but can ANY of us truly say that now? I mean it’s tied into Google, Microsoft Word, Canva! Heck even LinkedIn and social media sites now give the option of having a post ‘tweaked’ and or ‘revamped’ with the AI tools!
We have had two tool trainings on the use of AI and how it can be a great tool for our businesses this year (2025)!
Eden Rookstool in January shared with us how AI can assist us in time management and with the organizational flow of tasks and things we need to get done as business owners!
Andre De Almeida in March talked about AI being our personal assistant and how just as with any ‘new’ assistant you need to train them, teach them, and let them know your expectations before you put them to work on writing, tasks and more!
Both these trainings were amazing! I see the potential!
However, I have not leaped in yet.
I have seen many blogs and posts written by AI. I am not saying whether this is right or wrong because frankly it just is. It’s not my call to tell another business owner what is right and what is wrong. It is their journey to navigate.
In my writing I have been putting at the bottom of my work “No AI was used in this response.” Is this needed? Most likely not because my lack of proper sentence structure, word flow and grammar would make most cringe and know it was not AI generated! Ha! However, it makes me feel better to emphasize that the words the reader is reading are in fact 100% mine and authentic – mistakes and ALL!
Do I see how AI can help me grow my business?
I do.
I see how AI can save me some time. My time can be better spent on some tasks that will directly affect my business growth, rather than on administrative items or idea generating items etc. It truly is only a matter of time before I create that AI app account and start the learning curve of the capabilities!
The tools are there – they won’t work unless I learn how to work them and what their strengths are! I mean heck we are all on Facebook now – imagine if I had gotten stuck in the Myspace app and or ICQ for chatting? I know I just absolutely dated myself and my age!
I remember what Andre said – that since AI is pulling information from ALL sources, when asked a question, we must fact CHECK AI and ensure that the information is correct and reputable. THAT there was a lightbulb moment for me.
When he equated AI to being an employee and as the boss and CEO of my company I may need to check my employees work – I found my shoulders dropped a bit and I relaxes in knowing – I can use AI and still OWN the work, results and benefits after all AI is my employee and I’m the boss.
However,…. For this blog… No AI was used in this blog writing.
