How have you built a ‘community’ around you and your business? What have been the ripple effects of building and having a community?

I think I have built a petal (flower) of people in my new floral world around me. I never expected to find so much passion, love and dedication to the floral world that has inspired me personally. Although I have my customers, my petal friends are a HUGE part of my community for my floral business.

I have seen so many seasoned florists with huge achievements open their doors to answer questions. It is not just being friendly, it is also working hands in the floral trade to help others grow without wanting any recognition or payment.

Looking around my new found floral world, I have petal friends that have 5, 20, 35, 45, 50+ years in the floral industry that I consider my very close friends. It is not just about the flowers, it is also about the emotions that come with the industry. It truly is an industry that experiences all emotions. From grief, new life, celebrations, just because moments and of course love. How awesome is that? To have a community that shares that same passion and more, I am forever truly blessed.

Ripple effect, for me, learning, growing, challenging myself in a petal world that perhaps one day, I, too, can mentor someone that is looking to grow in the floral industry. How remarkable would that be!
